For a Canadian express package delivery client, designed two new hub cross docking facilities. Developed functional bid specifications for all material handling equipment. Developed system functionality to provide real-time package tracking from package pick-up through the distribution process to proof of delivery across the province of Saskatchewan. Selected equipment vendors and managed detail hub design and implementation process.
For a same day package delivery business on the west coast, managed the design of a new cross-docking facility to handle a wide range of merchandise from conveyable cartons to couches and office furniture. Developed the functionality for a control system to track product through the system and to support the warehousing of customer inventory.
For a top provider of logistics services in the computer hardware industry, consolidated returns operations for five regional distribution centers to centralize processing in Ft. Worth, TX. Reduced cost of introducing sellable merchandise into product mix by re-engineering existing returns processes. Efforts were also made to broaden handling capabilities to expand service offerings and accommodate volatile cycle time requirements to original manufacturer.
